Overall the trip was good and the guys had a good time.
The best part was the food. The chef was top notch and the food was gourmet and well appreciated.
The staff of the lodge was also very good. We loved Marilyn and the wait staff.
The guides overall were ok. They were all very nice guys and easy to get along with. We all felt that they could have spent more time with us helping to spot fish. With this type of fishing we were in the same spot on the river the whole time and waited for the fish to move by. There were long periods of time when there were no fish there. When fish were spotted at the entrance of our run it would have been very helpful for the guides to help us spot the fish as they moved through. They did this some but the majority of the time they were just hanging out talking to each other.
The fishing was also ok. I don’t have any experience with this type of fishing so I don’t know what to compare it to. Between the 10 of us we averaged about 6 – 8 fish per day. There were 2 x 4 times that many hook-ups that were not landed. So for some guys that meant 8 hours of fishing and two strikes and no fish. Out of our group 3 guys did not catch a fish the whole trip.
Overall it was still a good trip ….
