Announcing Two NEW Lodges in Central America!
Fishing International is pleased to announce new additions in Panama and Guatemala, two world-class billfish destinations, in time to book for the upcoming prime season in January through April. With the addition of Aqua Adventures Panama, we now bring you four great lodges in Panama, and the new Pacific Fins in Puerto Iztapa adds a second destination in Guatemala.
Aqua Adventures Panama
From Punta Burica, just south of the town of Puerto Armuelles, the world renowned Hannibal Bank, Isla Montuosa, Isla Ladrones and the 1000 fathom drop are all just a short run away. Giant Yellowfin Tuna, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, and Dorado are all frequent vistors to the waters here off Panama.
The lodge is located on the beach in Punta Burica, one of the most beautiful areas of Panama. This Pacific beach extends for 7 miles plus 2 miles of surfing beaches by the point. The ocean offers a bounty of fish, whales and other marine life. There are good diving spots and snorkeling reefs nearby. Punta Burica is predominantly undeveloped and is biologically diverse. However, there is a new road, electricity, and water which affords the residents an acceptable standard of living.
The main lodge is 3000 square feet and consists of the restaurant, bar and game room with pool and card tables. There is a large covered lanai so you can choose between out door or indoor dining.
Ten individual cabins provide comfortable accomodations. All are air-conditioned, studio-sized cabins with private covered lanais (decks) and just steps to the beach, pool, restaurant and bar.
Both the main lodge and cabins have tropical hardwood high beam ceilings, spanish tile floors and plenty of space to relax. The lodge and every cabin have spectacular views of the pool and ocean.
Reaching Punta Burica is easy. The closest main city of David and it’s airport are only about a 1.5 hour ride away. There is also an excellent airstrip 15 min. away in the town of Puerto Armuelles for possible charter flights from David or Panama City.

Pacific Fins, Iztapa, Guatemala
A few miles east of the commercial port town of Puerto Quetzal lies the fishing and farming village of Iztapa, and the newly remodeled Pacific Fins luxury fishing resort. Located on the estuary which lies between the village and the beach, this resort offers four beautiful air conditioned villas, each with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a central living room featuring a queen sofa bed, a flat screen satellite TV and a kitchenette. Sliding glass doors open on to a sun deck overlooking the beautifully landscaped tropical grounds, pool and dock area. Aside from the villas, two individual private rooms are also available. Wireless Internet will keep you up-to-date with the “real world” should you choose.
All of the in-room furniture and bedding is new and of the highest quality for your comfort. Each room features two double beds.
After an exciting day on the water, enjoy your favorite beverage from the bar, relax in the beautiful pool, or enjoy a hot soak in the spa. Breakfast is served each morning by the pool and each evening you will enjoy a gourmet meal prepared by the resort Chef.
The Pacific Ocean off the coast of Iztapa, Guatemala provides unparalleled fishing opportunities. After a day on the water, Pacific Fins Resort provides you with the ultimate refuge in which to rejuvenate yourself and share the days action with your friends and family.
Pacific Fins’ fleet features the newest and fastest sportfishing yachts in Guatemala. The line up includes 2 brand new 2007 CABO’s and several other equally luxurious yachts. Every boat is meticulously maintained for your comfort and safety. All of the boats are equipped with top of the line Shimano tackle.
