GREAT DEALS – 40% Off Flats Fishing in Belize!

TURNEFFE ISLAND LODGE HAS JUST REDUCED THEIR RATES FOR THE REST OF 2008 AND 2009! This lodge, located on a private Caribbean island 35 miles off the coast of Belize, is now offering 30-40% discounts on flats fishing packages. And air fares have never been better from many cities in the US to Belize City.

Turneffe Island Lodge continues to be recognized after four decades as one of the Caribbean’s top salt water flats fishing destinations. The Lodge offers a prime location and fishing service for the coveted Grand Slam fishing challenge. The number of anglers is limited to 8 to maximize the solitude, to keep a 2:1 client / guide ratio, and to minimize fish stock impact.

Permit caught on the Turneffe Atoll

Turneffe Island Lodge is now the home of the recent world record for one person catching the most “Grand Slams” (6) at the same location (one Tarpon, one Permit and one Bonefish) all in the same day.

The 36-mile long Turneffe Atoll consists of over 200 mangrove islands that are greatly undisturbed and teeming with Bonefish, Permit and Tarpon as well as Grouper, Snapper, Snook, Barracuda, Jacks, Wahoo, King Mackerel and Tuna. The crystal clear waters of the Atoll are inhabited by the greatest variety of coral and tropical marine life in the Caribbean.

Turneffe Island Lodge’s guides are professional, local, experienced and very personal. They provide an exceptional fishing experience for the beginner and expert alike. A full fishing gear rental shop is available as well.

For the adventuresome angler, remember that Turneffe also provides a world-class diving location as well. Well know for its incredible diversity of marine life and coral formations, this is a snorkeling and skin diving paradise.

THE ISLAND AND ACCOMODATIONS

Turneffe Island Lodge is a leader in exclusive yet accessible private island vacations in the western Caribbean and Central America, providing a rare and peaceful interlude in today’s hectic world. There are no TVs, radios, computers, newspapers, cell service, internet, or wi-fi in your rooms. Escape and let nothing distract you from relaxing and enjoying your activities.

The impact of the Lodge on the wonderful Turneffe Atoll and the ocean environment around it are minimized by conserving, recycling and reusing materials and resources on the island. Water is heated by solar panels, rainwater is collected and added to de-salinated water for use throughout the island, standard US rated electricity is generated by diesel generators, and septic is fully contained.

At Turneffe Island Lodge, your accommodations are very modern, recently renovated and are designed and built to be elegant, peaceful, and relaxing. Choose from 20 finely adorned rooms all with Mahogany wood paneling and flooring, large opening windows, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, screened in porches, daily housekeeping, indoor showers and the ever popular private outdoor showers.

The Lodge has 8 ground floor deluxe rooms, 4 second floor superior rooms, and 8 stand alone cabanas. All rooms are almost identical in design and quality, and all have direct ocean views.

These comfortable accommodations are designed to provide a warm and relaxing ‘home away from home’ feeling. Electricity is normal US power standards. Each morning, your choice of coffee or tea is quietly placed on your patio.

  • Seattle – Delta $225
  • Denver – Continental $356
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Continental $292
  • Houston – Delta $292
  • Atlanta – Continental $392
  • Charlotte – Delta $327

Due to the Lodge’s relative isolation and the structure of their 3, 4, and 7 night packages, the 35-mile boat rides to and from the island are on Wednesday and Saturday only. You must arrive in Belize no later than 2:30 PM in order to make the boat transfers. (Private water taxi service is available for custom trips, or if you miss the boats due to travel delays, at a seprerate charge of $450.)
