Peak bluewater season on the Pacific coast of Central America and Venezuela's Caribbean coast ranges from December to as late as May in some places, and Fishing International has over thirteen destinations to offer you. We've been working with the operators of fishing lodges, charters and resorts for many years, and this year we offer a new destination on Nicaragua's Pacific coast in a tropical island environment with easy access to an unpressured bluewater fishery.
This is billfishing at its best, with excellent catches of marlin and sailfish, as well as dorado and yellowfin tuna along these coasts. Experience tells us, however, that the time to book starts now, as space will fill up at the prime lodges very soon. Guatemala
Guatemala is a hot destination for billfish, in particular Pacific sailfish. When we say hot, we mean it. Sport fishing boats average between 15-20 sailfish caught and released daily. The numbers are unequaled by any other destination we know. Not only are the sailfish abundant in great numbers, but action is good year round.
Panama (3 destinations)
Combine a great vacation with some outstanding fishing action in the country known for its large numbers of billfish. On any given day, anything can happen. Choose between the Pinas Bay fishing areas on the South Pacific coast adjacent to the Darien National Park, or the slightly more adventurous Coiba fishing grounds to the north.

Venezuela
Locals claim that the famous La Guaira Bank in Venezuela is the GRAND SLAM capital of the world, and we won't argue unnecessarily about that because of the spectacular results we have seen. Since all species of billfish are caught throughout the year, it is this unique feature that earns La Guaira the title of Billfish Capital of The World. Countless blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, and swordfish that congregate in the area welcome anglers that come to Venezuela looking for the ultimate challenge.
Nicaragua
This year we've added a great destination on the southern Pacific coast of Nicaragua in the area knows as San Juan del Sur. The fishery here offers unpressured fishing offshore for billfish, tuna and dorado, as well as inshore fishing for a variety of species. The fishing starts picking up in late March / early April when the winds start to die down. The peak season in San Juan del Sur is June through September. Offshore you will encounter black blue, and striped marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and dorado. The prime months out of San Juan del Sur are from May through October. The fishing season is longer out of the Marina Puesta del Sol Resort, in the north.
