		SEYCHELLES ISLANDS INDIAN OCEAN LIVE-ABOARD BONEFISH ADVENTURE 2002/2003 Flats fishing in Seychelles is a unique experience. Not long ago, most of the islands of the Amirantes Archipelago were private. No one could land and fish on the flats or on the reefs. They was no transportation to the islands and authorization was needed by the owner to land. Every six months, a schooner from Mahe would bring the mail, tobacco, onions, sugar and rice and other goods as well as new workers. On the return trip, copra, other crops and salted dry fish would be loaded on the schooner to be sold in Mahe. At that time there was no place for tourism or sport fishing.   Things have changed, with the new airstrip built on Assumption, some of the most remote islands in the world, Cosmoledo, Farquhar, Astove, Providence, have become accessible to anglers.   Alphonse, Poivre, Saint Joseph and Saint Francois are located in the northern part of the Amirantes and more easily accessed from Mahe or Desroches for tourism and sport fishing.   Seychelles is the last frontier of Bonefishing.   MV ILLUSIONS   MV ILLUSIONS accommodates guests in 7 cabins, each sleeping 2 people. Once squared away, we set sail for Aldabra Atoll arrive late afternoon. (sailing time approx. 3 hours) Day 2 - spend day exploring Aldabra that evening set sail for Cosmoledo (sailing time approx. 10 hours) Day 3 - early morning arrival at Cosmoledo Day 4 to 6 - Cosmoledo Day 7 - early morning departure for Astove (sailing time approx. 3 hours). Spend day fishing Astove. Late afternoon set sail for Assumption Island (sailing time approx. 10 hours) Day 8 - Arrive Assumption and transfer from MVI to landing strip. Air transfer Assumption/Mahe. Arrive Mahe late afternoon. At this time of year there are excellent light tackle trolling and fly rod opportunities from the back of the yacht during this crossing, for yellowfin tuna and sailfish in particular . Day 2 - early morning arrive and anchor at St. Joseph Atoll. Spend day fishing. Day 3 and 4 - St. Joseph Day 5 - depart St. Joseph Atoll early morning (02h00), arrive Poivre Atoll 06h00 (4 hours sail). Spend day fishing Poivre. Day 6 - Poivre Day 7 - 07h00 depart Poivre for Mahe (22/23 hour sail). Again good opportunities for pelagic game fish from the back of the yacht during this crossing. When not ferrying anglers to and from the flats, the skiffs can be used to fish the deeper water of the lagoons or open ocean, weather permitting.
