ou will fish on the Quesnel River at the outlet of Quesnel Lake in Likely, British Columbia, at the base of the Cariboo Mountains! The lodge has 6 double occupancy bedrooms, a great room complete with stone fireplace, pool table, fly tying areaand pro shop on approximately five acres of beautiful riverfront grounds. The spacious lodge facility overlooks one of the best trout and salmon pools on the Quesnel River. Fly fishing at its finest right on the doorstep! It is in the heart of nature and the historic gold mining grounds of the Cariboo - the best of it all - the rivers, the lakes, nature, wildlife, history, alpine, wetlands, and world-class flyfishing for the legendary wild trout and salmon of the Quesnel Lake watershed.

We cater to both the serious sports fisher and the novice. Located in the Cariboo Mountains of central British Columbia at Quesnel Lake, the world's deepest fjord lake, the area is noted for spectacular scenery, wildlife and world class trout fishing for legendary wild native rainbows, Dolly Varden and lake trout and salmon. Pyna-tee-ah's professional guides, with over 25 years experience in the outdoor tourism industry, hosts fully guided trips in 2 parks and on the major rivers and lakes in the Quesnel Lake watershed.

Quesnel and Cariboo Rivers - Rugged Rivers, Wild, Wild Trout! These rivers are the main tributaries of the Quesnel Lake watershed draining the waters form the rugged Cariboo Mountains into the Fraser River. These are wild mountain rivers of unsurpassed beauty with exceptional rainbow and dolly fishing from mid-July through October. These are two of the rearing rivers for the legendary rainbows and Dolly Varden of the Quesnel Lake fishery and two of the best fishing rivers in the province with the least fishing activity. You may even hook up a steelhead or Coho, Spring or Sockeye Salmon. Chinook salmon fishing is excellent through August and September.

Wild Rainbows and Screamin' Reels!!

The Quesnel Lake rainbows are recognized as a unique strain and one of the largest wild rainbow trout on the planet. They can reach weights of up to 20 pounds. Their fighting ability is legendary.

We have developed our own highly effective fry and smolt patterns and fly fishing methods for these big 'bows. Our preference is 6 weight rods with sink tip line and long leaders. Also a dry fly rig to take advantage of spring hatches.

Rivers such as Mitchell River, Horsefly River, Cariboo River, Quesnel River, Blue Lead, and some of our favorite smaller rivers, streams.

These waters are all home to wild, native trout ranging in size up to 20 lbs and offer excellent dry fly and streamer fishing. Fishing for wild trout in the quiet solitude of the river, disturbed only by the splash of the big 'bow dancing on the end of your fly line, is the ultimate trout fishing experience.

2007 Mitchell Lake - Five Star Wilderness Adventure
June thru mid-October

A premier wilderness adventure in the spectacular Cariboo Mountains. A flight by floatplane takes you into 15 mile long Mitchell Lake, the jewel of Cariboo Mountains Park. Keep your camera handy as you will be sure to want to photograph some of the spectacular "bird's eye views" of the Cariboo Mountains. On arrival at Mitchell Lake you will be settled into Pyna-tee-ah's very comfortable camp.

Grab your fly rod and start landing Dolly Varden and rainbow trout right in front of camp and on the rivers and streams and creek mouths. Excellent dry fly and streamer fishing. Wading, boat and float fishing. Enjoy exploring the Mitchell Lake area, taking in the spectacular mountain glacier scenery, native wildlife, and relaxing. Don't miss visiting this secluded mountain paradise.

Dragon Lake & Small Mountain Lakes Packages

Dragon Lake is one of the jewels of the Cariboo and is home to trophy sized rainbows of over 20 pounds. This relatively small lake is only a few kilometers outside the city of Quesnel is situated among hilly forested terrain and farmland and there are a number of residences along the shoreline. The shoreline is sandy gravelly soil and black loam with cattails and bulrushes along most of it. The lake covers an area of approximately 225 ha (556 acres) with a shoal area of 156 ha (385 acres) and has a mean depth of approximately 6 metres (19 ft). These are stocked rainbows, a local hard fighting species that average up to 12 pounds. Although this is a high usage lake located along a major Cariboo highway it offers some great fishing and is considered a fly fisherman's dream with ideal conditions and hatches. Dragon Lake is a terrific short stay or overnight trip as it is about 2 hours driving time from the lodge.

These All Inclusive Packages Include: Fully guided fishing, accommodations, meals, boats, motors, gas, on site fly fishing instruction, ground transport to and from Williams Lake, Goods and Services tax (GST).
Not included: International airfares, fishing licences, classified waters licences, flies, staff appreciation gratuities, liquor, floatplane flyouts unless specifically stated. (Fishing licences, flies and other gear is available for sale in the lodge pro shop).

For All Trips You Need To Bring: Waders, wading boots (no metal cleats, corks or studs), rain gear, hat, sunscreen, bug repellent, camera, film, batteries, flashlight, binoculars, day pack, personal toiletries and medications, warm jacket and clothing you can layer.
Mitchell Lake Trip Only - sleeping bag rated for at least 32°F (0°C).
