arewell Harbour Resort is in the heart of the best salmon and halibut fishing on the west coast of Canada. Trips inland to beautiful sounds and streams add to the adventure. From early June through mid-September you can divide your time anyway you desire. Fish either from boats or from the shore for the five species of salmon - Chinook, the much sought Coho, Sockeye, Pink and Chum, in the kelp for the feisty Black Bass, on the bottom for great Halibut, or even searching island streams for the elusive Cutthroat Trout.

This isolated fly-in resort is ideally situated on beautiful Berry Island, part of a provincial park (53 acres privately owned by the resort and the only island occupant). Near the top of Vancouver Island and overlooking the dramatic Inside Passage, We fish with two guests and a guide to each boat and we provide all fishing tackle, necessary bait and lures. Our fishing rods are custom made and we furnish single action Shimano reels (conventional reels also available). For those wanting to learn basics of fly-fishing, we offer a comprehensive four hour clinic with qualified instructors. The knowledge you gain will allow you to comfortably fish for any of these local species.

Salmon - Starting early August, we fly fish in a pristine river estuary for coho and pink salmon returning to spawn. Very aggressive and hit the flies extremely hard. Your only competition - local grizzly bears.

Sea Run Cutthroat Trout & Dolly Varden - Two of B.C.'s most sought after game fish on the fly. Most of the fish are in the 12 to 14 inch range - some 18 inches! Strictly catch and release.

World-Class Black Bass - A fisherman's dream. Hits hard, fights hard, and tastes great. Large concentrations around kelp beds and rocky outcroppings. Colored streamers entice them from their hiding places under the kelp.

Halibut - We've caught Halibut right off our dock up to 249 pounds, so the harbor fishing can be fun.
