COSTA RICA

Fishing International has sent fishermen to Costa Rica for 26 years. Our boats are the cream of the cream and our crews are expert in light tackle and fly fishing. There is no compromise here. We work with the best! Over the past years, we have selected the best accommodations and offer a complete choice of hotels. Call us to receive our brochures on Costa Rica.

FLAMINGO BEACH is only 275 kilometers (170 miles) from the capital city of San Jose.
Quepos sailfish
Flamingo beach, with a full service marina and a large variety of boats, is the center of fishing action on the northern Pacific Coast. There are more sails hooked in this area every year than anywhere else in the world along with blue, black, and striped marlin. You can experience the marine richness of these warm waters catching billfish, dorado, tuna, snappers and others species. Local waters also abound in big dorado, wahoo, tuna that often run to 200 pounds, jacks, giant snapper, grouper, rainbow runner, amberjack, blue runner and more. The magnificent five star, all suite, resort is the largest and most opulent in all of Costa Rica. There is a 18 hole par 72 championship golf course that was designed by Robert Trent Jones II, a large free form swimming pool, four lighted tennis courts, a fully equipped health club, water sports and of course, great fishing. Four nights/3 days fishing from $1,030.00 per person.

PUNTA ARENAS - QUEPOS
Hotel Eclipse
Just 20 short minutes by air from San Jose, Costa Rica, is the quaint village of Quepos. It is a bustling community with an interesting local flavor. This lush, tropical area offers a unique combination of superb sportfishing with the excitement of the spectacular Manuel Antonio National Park, which is adjacent to Quepos. Quepos since it offers some of the nicest beaches, is close to San Jose and now offers a variety of hotels, has become Costa Rica's most popular resort area during the dry season. Summer in Costa Rica is from December to April. The fishing program is operated by experienced American and Costa Rican crews using professionally outfitted boats. Quepos is a great way to taste the exciting blue water opportunities on the west coast of Costa Rica.
Four nights/3 days fishing from $1,025.00 per person.

BILLY PATE'S INVITATIONAL FLY FISHING TOURNAMENT
Billy Pate's TournamentThe famous 4 day event took place in Quepos in late January 2001. Sixteen anglers participated in the tournament. Patrick Richer Delavau, Fishing International's field advisor for France, finished second with 11 sailfish released behind Joe Dowdell who released 16 sailfish. The boats raised a lot of sailfish, however, anglers reported that most of the fish were not aggressive enough to be caught on a fly. "Patrick scored very well, hooking and releasing all the fish he had a chance to cast a fly to" reported Enrique his captain. Quepos is the ideal location for fly fishing for sailfish. The sea is almost always calm, our crews are very well versed in light tackle and last but not least, hotel accommodations are very comfortable.

GOLFO DULCE
Just a short flight from San José, this lodge is a first class resort, situated on 44 acres of tropical gardens on the Osa Peninsula and adjacent to some of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches. The "Osa" has been described by National Geographic as "the most ecologically intense place on earth". This is the best combination of offshore and inshore fishing in the world; blue water for sailfish, marlin, dorado, wahoo and tuna; mangrove back country for snook, snapper, barracuda and corvina.
Five nights/3 days fishing $1,485.00 per person.
