ATLANTIC SALMON

Also called landlocked salmon, Kennebec salmon, black salmon, Sebago salmon.

The Atlantic Salmon is native to the northern Atlantic from the Connecticut River to Quebec, Iceland and southern Greenland. It also occurs from the Artic Circle to Portugal. Inland, there are a number of landlocked populations that must be considered strictly freshwater fish. Unlike Pacific salmons, Atlantic Salmon may spawn more than once before dying The Atlantic Salmon is a highly valued sports fish as well as a commercial fish and is excelent eating.
