It’s been over 50 years since a local trapper with the help of a small group of local Cree people, ventured out on this magnificent lake and found the pristine point ideally located at the mouth of a river where the lodge has been built.
Located 365 miles north east of Winnipeg, this isolated lodge is only accessible by air. The lake covers over 1300 square miles of pristine wilderness, renowned not only for it’s trophy fishing, but also the unprecedented wildlife (bald eagles, black bears, moose, caribou, wolves). They offer the best variety trophy fishing in the world, weather it’s northern pike, lake trout, walleye, whitefish or brook trout, fishing all species can only be done at this lodge where the water never freezes! The river winds its way 250 rugged, untamed miles north to Hudson’s Bay, the same untouched wilderness route that the first explorers of North America took hundreds of years ago. The lodge, established over 50 years ago, was completely rebuilt in late 1980’s, and is one of the most up to date lodges in Canada, the handicap accessible facility, state of the art facility prides itself on the service we provide, long before you arrive, they start working to ensuring your fishing experience is most enjoyable. The accommodations at the lodge are first class and American plan only. each of the cabins have deluxe bedrooms featuring twin beds, hot and cold running water in private bathrooms with sinks, toilet and showers. A screened in verandah allows guests the comfort of sitting and enjoying a picturous sunset overlooking the river from the cabins or the main lodge which can accommodate up to 48 guests.
Outposts – Travel back in history to visit 2 wilderness outpost camps on Gods River, located at Allen Rapids (20 miles) and the old log cabin at Pine Rapids (40 miles) down river from the lodge. These cabins are equipped with beds, sleeping bags, cutlery, all meals and food are prepared by your guides. The experienced guides take you to through various rapids on these wilderness pursuits to parts of the river few modern westerners have ever seen. The splendor and rugged beauty of the river as it tumbles it way 250 miles north of Hudson’s Bay is yours to behold as it has remained for thousands of years. These outpost packages are charged out extra above the regular pricing and should be booked in advance.
Staff – The staff at the lodge will cater to your every need, when you arrive off the water from long days fishing, the yard men are there to greet you and assist in carrying your gear to your cabin. Daily housekeeping means you return to the clean, comfortable cabins for a evening of rest and relaxation, they supply all linens and towels.
The Chef will ensure your appetite is deservingly looked after, our mouth watering home cooked meals with portions so large you will struggle to finish, all served in a large, spacious, open air dining room. Home cooked bread and fresh cooked apple pies will melt in your mouth. Later in the evenings they deliver a delicious plate of snacks to your cabin, completing another unforgettable day.
Guides – The guides are local Cree people who were born on the lake and river, they have knowledge of fishing on the lake unsurpassed by any others and handed down through generations of elders. They use no electronic fish finding equipment, only years of experience. The guides will demonstrate their ability to negotiate the rapids and rocks that will leave you in awe. Shore lunches will be prepared the way they have been for hundreds of years on open rocks with fires started from peat and twigs. You fish is expertly cleaned with the skill and speed and not a bone to be found!
Equipment – The fleet of 16ft. Lund boats are all equipped with newer 25 hp. Mariner outboards motors, padded swivel seats, life jackets, landing nets, rod and drink holders, fish tubs and coolers with ice, all the comforts you will want for a days fishing. The new docks located in front of your cabin provides for easy and convenient boarding. The tackle shop is stocked with all the necessary fishing gear you will need and has plenty of soft drinks and snacks.
Corporate and Business
Clients marvel at the upper level meeting/conference room which can accommodate 24-48 people and fully equipped business center, meeting facilities and audiovisual equipment are available to facilitate the success of your focused event (including TV, VCR, overhead projector and screen) all opening up to a second floor patio. They can set up for you company meetings or other special events. A great break from the regular bored room routine. This lodge is the ideal location for a corporate retreat, small workshop or management reward. The charter aircraft fly from Winnipeg to the lodge twice a week on a regular basis or you can land on the 5,000 ft. all weather air strip adjacent to the lodge in your own private aircraft or charter.
Regular schedule flights are available from all points in the USA and Canada to Winnipeg, Manitoba via Northwest Orient Airline, Canadian Airlines, Air Canada, and United Airlines.

It all starts in early June, once the ice has melted on the lake, Walleye is the word. You can catch trophy Walleye in numbers so plentiful you will wonder where they come from. Averaging in size from 3-8 lbs, 23-32 inches, with larger ones waiting to be discovered. June, July, September.
The diverse structures of the lake, with many hidden reefs and sharp drop offs over several hundred feet provide the ideal habitat for lunker lake trout.Averaging in size from 6-24 lbs., 23-40 inches. Trolling in June and September has produced some 40+lbs. lakers.
Situated at the mouth of the river, this is one of the best natural brook trout fishery in the world! Many of the finest brook trout caught in the North America are caught right in front of the lodge either on boat or off the rocks in the rapids on most evenings. Averaging in size from 3-8 lbs., 17-24 inches. June, July, Late August, September.

Policy is to have 2 guides per boat on river trips for your safety. NO EXCEPTIONS! Day River trips are billed at an additional $250.00 per boat.
Outpost Camps – Allen Rapids and Pine Rapids add $350.00 per night / boat. Due to the distance, Pine Rapids Outpost should be booked for a minimum of two nights.
